How to connect Google Workspace
Connecting Google Workspace to WiseStamp takes seven steps and a few minutes. The connection must be completed by the super administrator for your domain.
In WiseStamp, open Integrations and click Connect on Google Workspace.
Select I'm the Google Workspace admin and click Connect. If you are not the super administrator, select Send instructions to another person and WiseStamp emails the steps to them.
Click Install. The Google Workspace Marketplace opens in a new tab.
Click Admin install, then click CONTINUE.
On the consent screen, confirm that Everyone at your organization is selected, select I agree, and click FINISH.
Click NEXT, then click DONE. Do not click Complete additional setup now.
Return to the WiseStamp tab and click Connect. A confirmation appears: Google Workspace App successfully connected.
That is the whole setup. There is nothing to install on your servers, no changes to your directory, and nothing for your employees to do.
What happens after you connect
After you connect your domain, Google Workspace on the Integrations page is marked CONNECTED and your employees are imported with their details already filled in.
Signatures are added to outgoing Gmail automatically, in the browser and on desktop. Your employees install nothing, and no Chrome extension is needed.
When you add people to your Google directory, you can update your employee list at any time. On the Employees page, click the three-dot icon next to Add Employees and select Sync. The page also shows the time of your last sync.
Signatures are deployed to employees who were synced from your Google directory. Employees added to WiseStamp manually are not linked to the directory, so sync them in rather than adding them by hand.
What your environment needs
Before you connect Google Workspace, confirm the following:
You have a Google Workspace account. The integration cannot be used with personal Gmail addresses.
The person connecting is the Google Workspace super administrator for the domain, and the WiseStamp account owner is a super administrator as well. If the account owner is not, the connection fails.
In your Google Admin console, API data access for the WiseStamp app is set to Granted.
The WiseStamp app is enabled for all organizational units, with App distribution set to ON for everyone.
What you are approving
Google displays a consent screen listing the permissions WiseStamp requests before anything is granted. WiseStamp uses them only to sync your employees and deploy their signatures, and does not read or store the content of your emails.
See, edit, create, or change your email settings and filters in Gmail. This lets WiseStamp install and update employee signatures in Gmail.
Manage your sensitive mail settings, including who can manage your mail. This supports applying signature settings to mail accounts.
Manage the email settings of users on your domain. This lets WiseStamp apply signatures across your organization rather than a single account.
See info about users on your domain. This lets WiseStamp import your employee directory so a signature can be generated for each person.
See your primary Google Account email address. This identifies the account completing the connection.
See your personal info, including any personal info you have made publicly available. This lets WiseStamp fill signature fields such as name from available profile information.
The connection is reversible from your Google Admin console at any time. Full security details are on the WiseStamp Security and Compliance page.
If someone else is your Google Workspace admin
If you are not the super administrator for your domain, select Send instructions to another person in step 2, enter the admin's email address, and click Send request. WiseStamp emails them the steps so they can complete the connection. The link in that email is valid for 24 hours.
