How to add and use the extension for Chrome
A browser extension is a program that permits certain actions when you're logged into a specific browser (e.g., Chrome) on the computer from which you added the extension. The WiseStamp extension allows you to:
- use different signature designs for one email address
- use your WiseStamp signature in multiple email platforms (different email addresses)
- access the WiseStamp Signature Editor directly from your message box (Gmail)
WiseStamp's browser extension is compatible with Outlook Web, Gmail and Yahoo.
The short video below provides an overview of how to set up and use the extension. For more details, check the step-by-step sections afterwards about adding the extension, choosing a default signature and composing messages.
Step 1: Design Your Signature(s)
Before adding the browser extension, make sure you've signed up for a WiseStamp account and created your signature(s). If you haven't done this yet just go to webapp.wisestamp.com in a Chrome or Safari browser to get started.
If you're not familiar with WiseStamp's Signature Editor, check this article for an overview, or go to the Signature Designs and Edits section of our Help Center.
TIP: When creating multiple signatures, make sure that you give each one a different name so you'll be able to easily manage them later.
Step 2: Add the Browser Extension
To add the extension, follow these instructions:
- Go to this page of the Chrome web store and click Add to Chrome.
- In the popup that opens, click Add extension.
The following popup opens when the extension has been successfully added:
Step 3: Set Up Your Default Signature
After adding the extension, make sure you're logged into your WiseStamp account. Then, open (or refresh) your mail program. You will see a popup with your WiseStamp signature and a message asking if you'd like to use the signature with this specific email address.
If you've already created multiple signatures, open the list at the top of the popup and select the one you want to use for this email address. Then, click the Use this signature button.
Step 4: Compose Your Messages
Now you're ready to start composing messages! When you create your first email, you'll see a popup pointing out the location of the WiseStamp quick access icon.
By default, the signature you selected during setup will appear at the bottom of your message. To use another signature, click the WiseStamp icon and select the design you want to display. You can also choose to remove the signature entirely by selecting None.
Using the Extension Menu Options
For your convenience, the WiseStamp browser extension includes an actions menu that lets you quickly access resources directly from your mail program. To open this menu, click the WiseStamp icon and then click .
The options are:
- Edit signatures: Opens the My signatures page of your WiseStamp account, where you can create and update your signatures.
- Signature settings: Opens the Signature settings page of your WiseStamp account. For more information go to Working with Signature Settings (below).
- WiseStamp for Teams: Allows you to sign up for a demo of the Teams platform.
- Help: Opens the WiseStamp knowledge base.
Working with Signature Settings
The Signature settings page is where you match your signatures with an email address. You can also add or remove email addresses and change the signature that is currently assigned to a mail platform.
You can access the Signature settings page at any time either directly from your mail platform (as described in the section above), or by clicking the links in your WiseStamp account.
To add an email address:
- Click Add email address to add a blank row to the Signature settings list.
- Open the Choose signature list and select the signature to be matched to the new address.
- Type the email address in the field on the right, and then click the green checkmark.
To update an email address, hover your mouse over the relevant row and click the pencil icon. To remove an email address, click the trash icon. (The trash icon is enabled only when more than one email address is listed in the Signature settings.)
