WiseStamp Chrome Extension
The WiseStamp browser extension for Google Chrome enables users to manage and deploy email signatures directly from their browser. It is compatible with Gmail, Outlook Web, and Yahoo Mail, and supports both individual and team users by offering a wide range of functionalities. This article explores the extension's features, provides guidance on its use, highlights its advantages, and offers insights into key considerations for effective email signature deployment.
WiseStamp Chrome extension includes the following features:
For All Users:
- Multiple signatures: Display multiple signatures while composing an email, allowing you to select the appropriate signature. This includes options for different signatures in replies/forwards emails or for different languages.
- Automatic insertion: Automatically inserts your WiseStamp signature into every email you send.
- Easy signature editing: Quickly access signature details from your email client to update signatures.
- Browser compatibility: Supports Google Chrome versions 88 and later.
- Email client compatibility: Compatible with Gmail, Outlook Web, and Yahoo Mail.
For WiseStamp for Teams:
- Manage signatures for shared inboxes: Enables employees to apply personal signatures for more personalized communications from shared inboxes.
- Primary and secondary signatures: Automatically inserts assigned primary, reply and forward signatures to ensure consistent branding across different types of emails.
Install the WiseStamp Chrome extension using centralized deployment
For WiseStamp for Teams, to perform a centralized deployment of WiseStamp Chrome extension, you can use any deployment tool that supports Chrome extension deployment. From the deployment tool, select the WiseStamp extension and and assign it to the employees who should receive the extension. In this article, we describe how to deploy the WiseStamp Chrome extension using Google Workspace.
WiseStamp Chrome extension installation with Google Workspace
When your organization uses Google Workspace, you can easily deploy the WiseStamp Chrome extension to all your employees.
!important!Only the Google Workspace super administrator for your domain can deploy the WiseStamp Chrome extension using Google Workspace. If you are not the super administrator you will be asked to send an invitation email to the administrator. The super admin needs to be connected to their Google account on a separate tab before integrating and needs to be signed out from any other Google account they may have on the same browser. For further detailed instructions to the super admin, see steps 6-13 in the procedure below.!/important!
- Sign in to your WiseStamp account.
- On the left panel, click Connectors.
- In the Chrome extension section, click Connect.
- A popup appears asking if you are the domain administrator:
- If you are the super administrator for your domain, select Yes, I am, click Install WiseStamp Chrome extension, and continue to the next step.
- If you are not the super administrator for your domain, select Nope, I’m not sure, enter the Google Workspace super administrator’s email address and click Send request.
- A Connect Chrome Extension popup appears with a link to the following instructions. Do not click Connect until completing the following steps.
The following steps need to be performed by the Google Workspace super administrator:
- The super administrator needs to open the Google Workspace Admin Console, and follow the steps described in this procedure.
- Go to Devices > Chrome > Apps & extensions and click the Users & browsers tab.
- Select the users to whom you want to deploy the WiseStamp Chrome extension. You can select Organizational Units (OUs), groups or specific users.
- Hover over the yellow “+” icon and click the Chrome Web Store icon. A dialog opens to select an extension from the Chrome Web Store.
- Do a search for WiseStamp, and select WiseStamp email signature extension.
- Click Select and you return to the Apps & Extensions page.
- On the right panel, click the Installation policy dropdown list and select force install + pin to browser toolbar.
- Click SAVE and the extension will be automatically installed for all the selected employees.
For the WiseStamp administrator:
- After the super administrator has completed the steps above, go back to the Connect Chrome Extension popup and click Connect.
Install the WiseStamp Chrome extension (individual deployment)
- Go to the WiseStamp page in the Chrome store and click Add to Chrome.
- In the popup, click Add extension. A confirmation popup opens when the extension has been successfully installed.
!note! To apply the signature in your email client’s composer, WiseStamp requires permission to Read and Change your data. It's important to clarify that we do not read or save your email content. We only ask for these permissions to insert your signature at the end of your email.

Initial sign in to access WiseStamp Chrome extension:
Once the WiseStamp Chrome extension has been installed, you and your employees need to sign in to access its features.
For WiseStamp Free or Pro:
After installing the WiseStamp Chrome extension, open your email client in Google Chrome. The first time you do this, a prompt appears asking you to Connect or Sign in.
- If your browser cache contains information about your WiseStamp account, Your email address is displayed and click Connect.
- If no account information is found, a message appears indicating that your account was not found. In this case, perform the following steps:
- Click Sign in at the bottom of the message.
- The WiseStamp sign-in screen opens and sign in to your account.
- Once signed in, a cookie is saved, and you won't need to sign in again to access the extension.
!note! If you delete your cookies or sign out of your WiseStamp account, you may need to sign in again. !/note!
For WiseStamp for Teams:
After the WiseStamp Chrome extension has been deployed, the first time the email client is opened from Google Chrome, a prompt appears to sign in to access your signatures and use the extension. All employees need to perform the following:
- Verify that your email is correct and click Sign in. An email with a code is sent to the displayed email. This code expires in a short time, so proceed to the next step promptly.
- Open this email and enter the 4 digit code in the popup.
- Click Sign in.
- Once signed in to the extension, a cookie is saved and you will no longer need to sign in again to access the extension.
Define default signatures
As mentioned above, using the WiseStamp extension allows the use of multiple signatures for the same email account. Therefore, once adding the extension, the default/primary signature that appears for new emails must be defined. Optionally, you can also define the signatures for reply and forward emails with WiseStamp for Teams.
For WiseStamp Free or Pro:
When you're logged into your WiseStamp account in the extension, open your mail program. During the first time you load the email program after installing the WiseStamp extension, you will be asked if you'd like to use the signature with the specific email address. If you've already created multiple signatures, open the list at the top of the popup and select the signature you want to use as default. Click Use this signature.

WiseStamp Chrome extension menu
The WiseStamp Chrome extension includes an action menu that provides quick access resources directly from your email program. To open this menu, click the WiseStamp Extension Menu icon and then select any of the following:
For WiseStamp Free and Pro:
- Edit signature: Opens the My signatures page of your WiseStamp account, where you can create and update your signatures.
- Settings: Opens the Signature settings page of your WiseStamp account.
- Sign out: Click to sign out of your WiseStamp account.
For WiseStamp for Teams:
- Edit signature details: Opens the My signature page of your WiseStamp account, where you can update your signatures.
- Sign out: Click to sign out of your WiseStamp account.
Select a signature
While composing an email, you have the option to select a different email signature. All signatures created for you are displayed, allowing you to select the one you prefer. WiseStamp for Teams provides additional features that can include support for automatic insertion of multiple signatures and shared inboxes.
Once the default and alternative signatures have been defined, signature injection and selection is available through the extension.
To change the automated selected signature:
- Once starting a new email (also, reply and forward emails with Teams) the associated default signature is displayed. To change the signature for this email, click the WiseStamp Extension Menu icon in the compose window.
- A panel opens displaying all available signatures. Click the signature you want to use and the selected signature replaces the default signature in the compose window.
- Continue completing the email and click Send. This email is sent with the selected signature.
For shared inboxes, the administrator must first map the associated emails to the shared inboxes to enable personal signature selection from the extension. This feature is only available with WiseStamp for Teams Plus and Enterprise.
To change the selected signature in a shared inbox:
- When composing a new, reply or forward email, click the WiseStamp Extension Menu icon in the compose window.
- A panel opens displaying all available signatures. Go to the Personal signature section and click the dropdown box to select the email associated with the personal signature.
- The associated personal signature is displayed. Click the signature to replace the default signature.
- Continue completing the email and click Send. This email is sent with the selected signature.
Remove a signature
If you don’t want a signature sent with your email, you can remove the signature using the extension. When composing an email, click the Remove icon located under the signature and the signature is removed from this email.
Manage WiseStamp Chrome extension connector
After creating the WiseStamp Chrome extension connector with WiseStamp for Teams, you can manage this connector from the Management page. From this page you can perform management tasks, such as view the connector status, set new features and remove the connector. To access the Management page, go to the Connectors page and click Manage for the Chrome extension connector.
The following table lists the management tasks available to you:
Feature | Description |
Multiple signatures | This feature enables you to assign different signatures (primary, reply, and forward) for each employee from the Employees page. Changes to this feature will apply the setting across all connectors that support it. This is disabled by default. |
Select email types to receive signatures | Select the appropriate checkboxes to specify which types of emails (new, reply and forward) will receive signatures. This selection will apply to all your employees. |
Shared inbox | This feature allows employees to apply personal signatures from shared inboxes for more personalized communications. Utilize the Shared inboxes option on the Employees page to map employee signatures to shared inboxes. Changes to this feature will apply the setting across all connectors that support it. This is disabled by default. |
Employee details management | Permits employees to edit their signature details, and the Edit icon is provided for accessing and editing these details. This is disabled by default. |
Signature removal | Permits employees to remove the signature from the email being composed, and the Remove icon is provided under the signature for easy removal. Signature returns in the next email. This is disabled by default. |
Status | Displays the current status of the connector. In this section the following information is displayed:

Disconnect | Click Disconnect to run a wizard that instructs you how to uninstall the WiseStamp Chrome extension and remove this connector. For more information, see Uninstall the WiseStamp Chrome extension. |
Uninstall the WiseStamp Chrome extension using centralized removal
For WiseStamp for Teams, the following procedure outlines how to uninstall the WiseStamp Chrome extension across all managed devices using Google Workspace.
!important!Only the Google Workspace super administrator for your domain can deploy or remove the WiseStamp Chrome extension using Google Workspace.!/important!
- Sign in to your WiseStamp account.
- On the left panel, click Connectors.
- In the Chrome extension section, click Manage.
- Click Disconnect, at the top-right of the page.
- A Disconnect Chrome Extension popup appears with a link to the following instructions. Do not click Disconnect until completing the following steps.
The following steps need to be performed by the Google Workspace super administrator:
- The super administrator needs to open the Google Workspace Admin Console, and follow the steps described in this procedure.
- Go to Devices > Chrome > Apps & extensions and click the Users & browsers tab.
- Click the WiseStamp email signature extension, and a panel opens on the right.
- In the header of this panel click the Delete icon.
- A confirmation message appears, and click Delete. WiseStamp email signature is removed from the list.
For the WiseStamp administrator:
After the super administrator has completed the steps above, go back to the Disconnect Chrome Extension popup and click Disconnect.
Uninstall the WiseStamp Chrome extension (individual removal)
- Open a new tab in Chrome and go to chrome://extensions/
- Find the WiseStamp extension and click Remove.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the removal process.
- Refresh your email program.
