How do I add WiseStamp to Gmail?
Adding your Gmail signature is easy as pie! There are 2 ways to add your signature to Gmail:
1. By use of the Google API
2. Through the WiseStamp browser extension
We'll walk you through both of these steps and when you would need to use each.
Using the Google API
What is an API?
In simple terms, an API allows us to insert your signature directly into your Gmail signature settings by connecting WiseStamp directly to your Google settings.
Who should use the API?
With the API you can use 1 email signature with 1 Gmail address. If this is how you plan on using WiseStamp the API is for you!
If you're going to be creating multiple signatures, or need to use the same signature with multiple email addresses, please continue to the bottom of this page for instructions on using the browser extension.
How to enable the API?
Once your signature is completed for the first time, click on the green Ok, I'm done button.
You'll then be asked to create your account. You can either choose to connect with your existing Google account, or you can use any email address you'd like.
Once your account is registered you'll be asked to select the mail program you're using. Make sure to select Gmail from the list and click the green Continue button.
If you didn't connect with Google before, you will be asked to connect here. Click on the blue Sign in with Google and follow the on screen steps to sign into your Google account.
You'll need to allow WiseStamp access to your Google account in order for the signature to be automatically added to your Gmail signature settings.
You'll be brought back to the editor where you will be prompted to refresh the Gmail inbox which you have just connected to WiseStamp. Click the green Refresh your Gmail button.
Your Gmail inbox will open in a new tab. Compose a new message and you'll see your new WiseStamp signature at the bottom of your email!
Using the WiseStamp Browser Extension
What is a browser extension?
An extension is a program which is added right to your browser which lets you complete actions only when logged into that specific browser on that specific computer.
Who should use the WiseStamp extension?
Anyone who will need to switch between multiple signatures for single email address, or plan to use the same signature for different email addresses, will need to use the WiseStamp Chrome extension.
How to enable the Chrome extension?
Enabling any Chrome extension is easy once you know where to go!
First, make sure you've signed up for a WiseStamp account and designed your signature. If you haven't done this yet just go to webapp.wisestamp.com in a Chrome browser and start creating.
Once the signature is designed click here to open the Chrome web store and click the blue Add to Chrome button.
Once the extension has been added just login to your Gmail account. You'll see a pop-up asking if you'd like to use the signature with this specific email address.
If you've already designed multiple signatures, use the arrows on the left and right to scroll through your signature options to find the one you want added to this email address. Then click the green Yes button to add the signature.
Once you choose the signature you want to show in your emails just compose a new email. You'll see a new WiseStamp icon at the bottom of the email where you can choose right from the email itself to switch to a different signature, or remove the signature entirely.
That's it - you're now ready to start emailing like a pro - happy stamping!
