Gmail signature settings breakdown
I can do WHAT with my Gmail signature settings?
Gmail recently updated their email signature settings, so let's take some time to go through everything you can do!
If you're using the API option to add the signature directly into your Gmail signature settings, you can edit your signature preferences through the general Gmail signature settings.
When you open a new email, the pencil icon at the bottom will open a signature list, an option for no signature, or to open the signature settings.
You can also click here to access your Gmail signature setting.
From the settings which will open you can delete signatures with the trash can icon and add signatures with the +Create new button.
Use the drop-downs of the For new emails use and for On reply/forwards use to select which signature should show for each, or No signature.
The option “Insert signature before quoted text…” will make the signature appear right at the bottom of your personal reply in a long thread.
If this option is un-checked, the signature will show at the bottom of the entire thread of the email.
Sometimes you might also see a -- line about your signature. If you see this in your emails, just make sure this options to Insert signature before quoted text... is checked off and it will remove the -- from above the signature.
And as always, you'll need to click the Save changes button on the bottom of the page - you'll need to scroll all the way down to find it.
