How to Use AI Insights for Your Surveys

Use AI Insights to ask questions about your survey responses in plain language. Learn how to open AI Insights, scope your question to specific surveys, and get clear answers from your feedback data.

With AI Insights, you can ask questions about your survey responses in plain language and get clear answers back. Instead of reading through every response or exporting a CSV, you can ask our AI assistant what your customers are saying and learn from your feedback faster.

[FLAG: confirm who can access AI Insights before publishing. The product manual says admins only, with employee access planned for a future release. This needs to be reconciled with the "wherever Surveys and Links are available" note.]

What AI Insights Does

AI Insights is a chat assistant that analyzes the responses you have collected through Surveys. You type a question, and the assistant reviews your survey data and answers in plain language. AI Insights works across all survey types, including CSAT, NPS, 5-Star, and Yes/No surveys.

You can use AI Insights to:

  • Find common themes and complaints across your responses.

  • Summarize what a specific survey is telling you.

  • See how customers feel about a feature, your onboarding, or a recent launch.

  • Compare feedback and spot patterns without exporting your data.

How to Open AI Insights

To open AI Insights, follow these steps:

  1. Go to your WiseStamp dashboard.

  2. In the main navigation panel under Surveys, click AI Insights.

  3. From here, you can type your question into the Ask me a question box and send it.

How to Ask a Question

To ask a question in AI Insights, type your question into the Ask me a question box and click the send icon. You can ask questions such as "What are the main complaints from long-term customers?" or "Can you summarize the feedback from this survey?"

Here are some examples of questions you can ask:

  • "What do customers like most about our product?"

  • "Which features get the most negative feedback?"

  • "How do customers feel about onboarding?"

  • "What are the main themes in this survey?"

When AI Insights answers, it gives you the main themes from your responses, whether the feedback is positive, neutral, or negative, and real quotes from your customers to back it up.

You can keep the conversation going by asking follow-up questions. For example, after a summary you can ask "Can you show quotes for each point?" to see the responses behind the answer. Each conversation is saved in the left menu under Chats, so you can return to a previous question later. To start over, click New Chat in the top left.

Using Suggested Questions and Personas

If you are not sure what to ask, AI Insights can suggest questions for you. Below the question box, you can choose a role, such as Support Manager, Customer Success Manager, Sales Manager, CEO, VP Product, or Product Manager. When you pick a role, AI Insights shows suggested questions that matter most to that role, so you can click one instead of writing your own.

How to Choose Which Surveys to Analyze

You can choose which surveys AI Insights looks at when answering your question. By default, AI Insights analyzes All surveys.

To scope your question to specific surveys, follow these steps:

  1. Click the All surveys dropdown below the question box.

  2. Use the Search field to find a survey by name, or scroll the list.

  3. Check the box next to each survey you want to include. Each survey shows its type and response count, for example CSAT | 100 responses.

AI Insights will then base its answer only on the surveys you selected.

AI Credits

AI Insights runs on AI credits. These are the same credits used by the AI Designer, so both features draw from one shared balance in your account. Using either feature lowers the same pool of credits.

Each current plan includes a set number of AI credits per month:

  • Pro+ – 200 credits

  • Basic – 500 credits

  • Grow – 1,500 credits

  • Platform – 5,000 credits

  • Enterprise – 7,500 credits

Your AI credits are a monthly quota. They reset at the beginning of every calendar month.

To see exactly how many AI credits you have, go to Plan & Billing in your WiseStamp account. This is the most reliable way to check your balance.

If you reach your limit, you can purchase more credits as an add-on through Manage Subscription. To learn more about how credits are used by the AI Designer, see How to Use the AI Designer.

Troubleshooting

Why does AI Insights say it has no data to analyze?

AI Insights can only answer questions about surveys that have collected responses. If the assistant says it cannot find survey responses, check that the surveys you selected actually have responses. A survey showing 0 responses has no data for the assistant to analyze. Try selecting a survey that has collected responses, or widen your selection to All surveys.

Which surveys can AI Insights analyze?

AI Insights can analyze all of your survey types, including CSAT, NPS, 5-Star, and Yes/No surveys. You can analyze all surveys at once or narrow your question to specific surveys using the All surveys dropdown.

Does AI Insights use AI credits?

Yes, AI Insights uses AI credits, and it shares the same credit balance as the AI Designer. Using either feature draws from the same pool. Your credits are a monthly quota that resets at the beginning of every calendar month. You can check your current balance under Plan & Billing, and you can buy more credits as an add-on through Manage Subscription.

Can AI Insights show me the actual customer responses?

Yes, AI Insights can show you real quotes from your customers. If an answer does not already include them, ask a follow-up question such as "Can you show quotes for each point?" and the assistant will share the responses behind its summary.

Where do I find AI Insights?

You can find AI Insights in the left menu of your WiseStamp dashboard, listed below Surveys. Click AI Insights to open the chat.
