Google Workspace Email Signatures: Scope Employee Sync by OU

Limit which Google Workspace users WiseStamp manages by organizational unit, department or category — and understand how selective sync behaves over time.

WiseStamp for IT › Google Workspace › Step 7 of 12 — Scope Employee Sync

Plan requirement: Sync settings are available on Grow and above (not Pro+ / Basic). Directory integration itself is Basic+.

Sync scope options

Manage from Settings > Sync & Automations:

Setting

Options

Daily sync

Sync WiseStamp daily / Don’t sync daily

Synced employees

Sync entire directory / Sync specific (departments, OUs, cost centers)

Per-field sync

Choose which directory fields sync into WiseStamp

Selective import (specific departments / OUs)

  1. Click Settings > Sync & Automations.

  2. In the Sync section, open the Synced employees dropdown and select Sync specific.

  3. Click Manage. Your list of departments/OUs is retrieved.

  4. Select the groups to import and click Save & Sync.

  5. If your selection excludes employees already in WiseStamp, you’ll be asked whether to remove them.

Discontinuing selective sync

  • Sync entire directory: daily sync includes all employees.

  • Don’t sync: automatic sync stops; manual sync is still possible.

Note on Google Group–based sync

Not supported. WiseStamp only supports selecting which Google users are created as employee records by properties — OU, department, cost center, etc. There is no Google-Group-membership-driven sync equivalent to Microsoft’s Security Group sync. Scope via OUs/departments/categories as above.

Behavior over time

  • With daily sync on, new directory users are imported and users removed from the directory are removed from WiseStamp automatically on the next sync.

  • Selective sync only imports the chosen OUs/departments; users moved out of scope can be removed on the next sync (you’re prompted).

  • Sync timing and latency: see Ongoing Admin Guide.

Validation

  • After Save & Sync, confirm only the intended OUs/departments appear in Employees.

  • Move a test user into an in-scope OU and confirm they appear on the next sync.

  • Move a test user out of scope and confirm the expected removal prompt/behavior.
