Google Workspace Email Signatures: Connect Your Directory

Connect your Google Workspace directory so WiseStamp can import employees and keep their details in sync. Step 1 for both Auto-Inject and server-side.

WiseStamp for IT › Google Workspace › Step 3 of 12 — Connect Your Directory

Plan requirement: Basic and above (Google Workspace integration).

Why this is required

WiseStamp automatically identifies Google domains. Once integrated, WiseStamp can:

  • Import employees into WiseStamp.

  • Synchronize employee details between WiseStamp and your Google directory.

  • Automatically add new employees and delete those no longer in your organization.

This step alone does not put signatures on email. It handles identity and employee sync only. You must also enable Auto-Inject (Auto-Inject into Gmail) and/or configure server-side (Server-Side Deployment).

Prerequisites

  • Google Workspace super administrator rights.

  • WiseStamp Owner or Admin access.

  • Prerequisites in Prerequisites Checklist completed.

Procedure

The knowledge base documents two onboarding flows. Use the one that matches what you see in your WiseStamp account.

Flow A — Admin self-install via Marketplace link

  1. In WiseStamp, click Integrations.

  2. In the Google Workspace section, click Connect.

  3. Click the Google Workspace Marketplace link in the pop-up.

  4. Click Install, then CONTINUE on the popup.

  5. Select Everyone at your organization.

  6. Select I agree… and click FINISH.

  7. Return to WiseStamp; a success confirmation appears.

  8. Click Sync all employees, or Sync specific to choose employees by category.

Flow B — Personal/individual use only (not for organization-wide rollout)

WiseStamp has two genuinely separate flows, not two alternatives for the same goal. Flow A above is the org-wide Google Workspace integration. This flow is intended for personal (solo) use only — it is not a valid alternative path to deploy WiseStamp across your organization. If you are setting up org-wide signatures, use Flow A and have your Google super admin complete it.

The steps below are documented for reference but should not be used as an organizational onboarding path:

  1. In WiseStamp, click Integrations > Google Workspace > Connect.

  2. In the pop-up, enter the Google Workspace super administrator’s email and click Send invitation.

  3. The super admin opens the email, clicks Open Google Workspace, and installs the WiseStamp app from the Marketplace.

  4. After installation, the super admin returns to the email and clicks Sync employees.

  5. On success, select import all users and click Import.

You can also start integration from Settings > Organization > Email service > Connect to Google Workspace.

Configure sync behavior

After connecting, manage sync from Settings > Sync & Automations (not available on Pro+ and Basic). Options include:

Setting

Options

Daily sync

Sync WiseStamp daily / Don’t sync daily

Synced employees

Sync entire directory / Sync specific (by department/OU/category)

Per-field sync

Sync with WiseStamp / Don’t sync with WiseStamp

To scope which employees import, see Scope Employee Sync.

Validation

  • Open Employees and confirm expected users imported.

  • Spot-check synced fields (title, department, phone) against the Google directory.

  • If using selective sync, confirm only intended departments/OUs are present.

  • If integration appears stuck, in the Google Admin Console go to Apps > Google Workspace Marketplace apps, open the WiseStamp app, and confirm permissions are Granted.

Common gotcha: after integrating, signatures will not appear in Gmail until you also enable Auto-Inject or configure server-side. "No signature" at this stage is expected — proceed to Step 2.
