Overview of the Signature Editor
Unlock the full potential of your email signatures with WiseStamp's Signature Editor. This tool offers a plethora of features to help you create professional, compelling, and highly personalized email signatures. In this guide, we will walk you through each aspect of the editor to ensure you make the most of what it has to offer.
Signature editor tabs
The left side of the Editor consists of six tabs, each of which contains different features for designing and adding components to your signature.
Signature Details tab
Signature details are the pieces of information that appear in your email signature. Generally, details include name, job title, company name, contact information (e.g., phone, address, etc.), and other data you want to share with recipients (for instance, your website).
If you are a single user, input text into each field. If you are designing a signature for a group or team, you can also use your company data and employee attributes. To understand how to use the company or employee attributes, see Working with attributes.
!note!Any field that is empty will not appear in the deployed version of the signature.!/note!
To add more detail fields to the signature, scroll to the bottom of the tab, click Add a field and select the relevant field you want to add. If the field you need is not on the list, you can create it by clicking Custom.
Images tab
This tab allows you add up to two images (e.g., company logo and employee headshot) to your signature. If you wish to animate an image between two different images, use the GIF maker option.
!note! In the Teams plan you can use the company image attribute or the employee image attribute to populate the image on the signature, or to create your animated image.!/note!
For detailed instructions about adding images, see Signature images.
Additional images, such as banners, galleries, and more, can be added from the Apps tab of the Signature Editor.
Social tab
Enhance your signature by adding links to a wide variety of social media platforms and apps. The quick link at the bottom of the tab opens the Company details dialog, so you can easily add and update your social links without navigating away from the Signature Editor.
Template tab
The signature template determines the general structure or layout of your signature's presentation. For instance, would you like all the signature components stacked vertically, on one side of the page? Or do you prefer some of the components arranged horizontally? Perhaps you want to emphasize some details by displaying them in a colored bar. Explore WiseStamp's template gallery and choose the style that fits you best.
Design tab
Here you can control the look and feel of your signature's components. For example, you can choose the size and colors of fonts, shape and position of images, and style of decorative lines. In addition, you can control the presentation of details (such as phone, website, etc.) by selecting labels, icons, and direction of display.
Apps tab
This tab offers a large selection of apps and special components that you can use to customize and boost the value of your signature. Banners, disclaimers, quotes, and different types of call-to-action buttons are just a few of the options provided. For more information about apps and how to create them, see Signature apps.
Preview pane
The right side of the Signature Editor displays the current draft of your signature. The preview is updated in real-time, as you make changes in the Signature Editor. In the Teams plan, to display a preview with the details of a specific employee, open the Preview with employee list at the bottom of the page and select the relevant person.
Publishing your changes: the final steps
How do I make sure my WiseStamp edits are saved?
Once you are satisfied with the adjustments you made in the Signature Editor, click Done Editing to proceed. At this point, you have two main options:
-
Publish Changes: Select this option if you are ready to apply your updated signature across all your designated emails. Once you click Publish Changes, the new signature is immediately active.
-
Save as Draft: If you want to review your changes further before making them live, you can save the modifications in Draft format. This allows you to return to your draft later for any final adjustments.
Note: Auto-Save feature
WiseStamp automatically saves your work as a draft. If you want to go back to your last published signature, just discard the current draft.
!important! To view the changes in the signature, refresh the browser window where your email platform is located (or close and open the Outlook desktop app). If you embedded the signature in your mobile phone, go over the embedding process to apply the new signature design.!/important!
Undo changes and discard your draft
- At the bottom of the preview pane, click Discard draft.
- In the popup, click Yes, discard changes. A confirmation message is displayed at the top of the page.
- Continue editing the signature. Your changes is displayed in the preview pane.
Troubleshooting
Here are the main issues that may occur concerning this topic:
Problem | Resolution |
Social links not working |
Verify all social profiles are inserted as a full link in the signature in the following format: https://www.facebook.com/WiseStamp Without the https:// or http:// prefix, the link will not work and your emails may be filtered as spam by some email programs. |
Changes not displayed in the preview |
If your changes are not displayed immediately in the preview pane, try "rebooting" the Editor by discarding the current draft. Although you will need to recreate your changes afterward, this almost always resolves this issue. If you are still not seeing updates in the preview, you may have browser issues. Try logging in again using a different browser. For best results, we recommend Chrome. If switching browsers does not resolve the problem, log out of your account, clear your cache and cookies, and log back in. |
Signature details not hyperlinked | Your emails may be set to Plain Text mode. Verify your emails are formatted in HTML mode to make the most of your signature. |
