With our built-in impression tracking dashboard and seamless integration with Google Analytics 4 (GA4), you can monitor email signature performance and analyze your email recipients' behavior. This guide will walk you through how to enable WiseStamp tracking and access the data in GA4.
Tracking your signature impressions (exposure)
The Total exposure feature allows WiseStamp for Teams users to track the exposure volume of their signatures. This feature calculates the number of times any of your employees' signatures was loaded.
WiseStamp does not track your emails nor acquire any private information in any way.
To view your Total exposure:
On the main navigation panel, click Analytics.
The Analytics page opens, where you can view your total exposure volume, both in the total number of views and in a graph, spread over a certain period of time. You can change the time period to display the statistics that you want.
Time frame and graph intervals
Total exposure volume is displayed by default for the last 14 days, and on the graph in daily intervals. You can change the time frame and graph intervals to display the statistics that you want.
To change the time frame:
On the main navigation panel, click Analytics.
Click the Time frame dropdown list and select a time frame between 14 days and up to 24 months.
The time period changes across both the total views and the graph.
To change the time intervals in the graph:
On the left panel, click Analytics.
Click the Days dropdown list and select between days, weeks, or months intervals.
The changes are displayed in the graph.
Exporting total exposure to a CSV file
You can export your total exposure statistics to your computer in a CSV file.
On the main navigation panel, click Analytics.
Select the Time frame and the graph time intervals you want to display (see above).
In the Total exposure graph click Export.
The data of the statistics is exported to your computer in a CSV file.
Tracking your signature clicks
Google Analytics provides an easy way to check the traffic that arrives from your signatures to your online assets. To enable this feature you need to add UTM parameters at the end of all links within your WiseStamp signature.
To track your signature clicks, add UTM parameters to the signature links. The tracking and measuring of the links activity is done on your Google Analytics platforms.
To set up the Analytics app on your domain, go to https://support.google.com/sites/answer/97459?hl=en and follow the instructions.
To add UTM parameter tags
On the main navigation panel, click Settings, and then click Analytics.
In the UTM Parameters section, set the UTM source, UTM medium, and UTM campaign.
For each parameter, enter free text for a static value, or enable the Use variable toggle and select the variables you want for a dynamic value. You can select more than one variable for each parameter, and you can use variables for the source, the medium, and the campaign.
Click Save changes at the bottom of the page.
WiseStamp automatically appends these UTM parameters to the links in your email signatures, so that all signature traffic is identifiable in GA4. The values used are the ones you set on this page, and you can change them at any time.
We recommend using company or employee variables for a personalized analysis. This way, you can track the clicks on the signature links for each employee.

Troubleshooting
The following are some of the issues that may occur:
Problem | Resolution |
Signature shows a broken image named _tpx_ | The _tpx_ is a tracking pixel used by WiseStamp to measure email views. It appears as a broken image when the recipient's email client doesn't automatically display images. You have two options to solve this - turn off the tracking pixel (this has to be done by our Support team) or turn off embedded images. |
