How to Use Rotating Banners in Campaigns

Updated over 3 weeks ago

With Rotating Banners, you can include multiple promotional images in a single signature campaign. This feature is perfect for marketing managers who want to test different banner variations or for IT managers who need to run multiple offers simultaneously without creating separate campaigns. For more information about campaigns, see our article Email Signature Campaigns.

How It Works

When you activate a rotating banner campaign, WiseStamp randomly selects one banner from your list for each outgoing email.

  • Random Rotation: Selection happens per email send with equal probability for all banners.

  • Frequency: Depending on how you use WiseStamp, the frequency at which a new banner is displayed will vary:

    • Gmail: Banners rotate every 24 hours.

    • Outlook Add-in: Banners rotate every 5-10 minutes.

    • WiseStamp Chrome Extension: Banners rotate every time an email is generated.

    • Server-Side: Banners rotate every time an email is generated.

  • Unified Settings: All banners in a single campaign share the same size, alignment, position, and UTM tracking parameters.

How to Create and Manage Multiple Banners

Use these steps to set up a rotation of banners within a single marketing Campaign.

  1. Access the Campaigns Page: In the left panel of your WiseStamp dashboard, click Campaigns.

  2. Start the Campaign Editor: On the top right of the page, click Create campaign (or click the three-dot icon on an existing Campaign to edit).

  3. Select Your First Image: Create your first promotional banner by choosing one of these sources:

    • Upload: Select an image file from your computer.

    • Gallery: Choose a professionally designed layout from the Template gallery.

    • Create: Use the built-in tool to design a new marketing banner.

  4. Add More Banners: In the left panel, click the Add another banner button.

  5. Choose the Banner: Click the Plus (+) button for the new banner and select Upload your own, Select from gallery, or Create a banner.

  6. You can continue to add new banners by clicking Add another banner.

  7. Configure Campaign Rules: Set your banner position, size, and activation timeframe.

Note: These Rules and settings apply to all banners contained within this specific Campaign.

  8. Publish Changes: Click Save in the top right corner of the Campaign editor to set your Campaign live.

For more information about creating campaigns, see Email Signature Campaigns.

Please note:

  • No Per-Banner Formatting: You cannot have different sizes or alignments for different banners within the same campaign.

  • Shared Tracking: All banners in the campaign use the same Google Analytics UTM parameters.

  • No Manual Sequencing: The system does not support "balancing" impressions or remembering which banner was shown last; the rotation is purely random.
