With a custom domain, you can replace the default domain we provide, wisestamp.link, with your own company domain when creating your links. This makes your short links polished, professional, and branded. For example, instead of sharing a long generic link to your Calendly page, you could use a branded, trackable short link that looks clean and trustworthy. In this article, we'll show you how to set up a custom domain and connect it to WiseStamp

Choose Your Domain

Start by selecting the domain you want to use.

  • You must already own the domain.

  • The domain should not be in use for another purpose (like hosting your main website), since connecting it here will override that use.

  • If your main domain is already in use, set up a subdomain instead—for example: links.yourcompany.com.

Connect Your Custom Domain to WiseStamp

Next, you must configure your DNS Settings for your domain/subdomain, which will connect it to WiseStamp.

  1. Log in to your domain registrar (GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.)

  2. Open your DNS settings for the domain/subdomain you chose.

  3. Add a CNAME record with the following values:

    • DNS Name This is where you enter the domain or subdomain you want to create.
For example, if you want links.yourcompany.com, just type links in this field — the system will automatically attach .yourcompany.com for you. If you are adding a domain, not a subdomain, you can enter the full domain name, such as yourcompany.com, in this field.

    • Value (or Points to) – Enter linksbrand.wisestamp.com. This connects your domain or subdomain to WiseStamp’s service, allowing your short links to work properly.

    • TTL (Time to Live) – Choose any period of time. TTL determines how long DNS records are stored (cached) by servers and devices before checking for updates.

  4. Save your changes.

!note!Keep in mind that DNS updates can take some time to take effect.!/note!

Add Your Domain to WiseStamp Links

Now that you've connected your custom domain/subdomain, you can add it to Links.

  1. After you log in to your WiseStamp account, click the Profile icon in the top right corner.

  2. Select Links domains.

  3. In the top right corner, click Add domain.

  4. In the Name field, enter your custom domain/subdomain (e.g., links.yourcompany.com).

  5. Use the toggle to decide whether the domain applies to specific organizations or all of them. You can then select which organizations to include. Turning the toggle on will automatically select all organizations.

  6. Click Save.

Use Your Domain to Create Links

Next, use your custom domain for the links you create.

  1. In the Links domains dashboard, refresh the page.

  2. Your domain's status should now say Active.

  3. In the top left corner, click Back.

  4. On the main navigation panel, click Links.

  5. On the Links page, click Add Link in the top right corner.

  6. In the Link details popup, your custom domain or subdomain should now be available to select under Domain.

!note!Allow about 5 minutes after the domain/subdomain becomes Active before using it. Backend updates may need extra time to complete.!/note!

Delete your domain/subdomain

If you'd like to delete a domain or subdomain, click the three-dot icon at the far right of the domain row, then select Delete. This will automatically deactivate all links that use that domain or subdomain. Once a domain or subdomain is deleted, it cannot be re-added to WiseStamp.

Troubleshooting

Why isn't my domain becoming active when I add it to WiseStamp?

If your domain doesn’t become Active within a few minutes, it usually means the DNS settings haven’t fully updated or aren’t set up correctly.

  1. Double-check your DNS settings in your domain registrar to make sure the records match what WiseStamp requires (for example, CNAME or A records).

  2. Once the DNS is confirmed to be correct, go back to WiseStamp and click the Retry button next to your domain. This will prompt WiseStamp to check the records again.

  3. Keep in mind that DNS changes can sometimes take several minutes to a few hours to take effect.

After the changes take effect and the check is successful, your domain should become Active and ready to use.

Why can’t I re-add a custom domain after I deleted it?

Once a custom domain is deleted, it cannot be added back to any account. This is to prevent other people from adding your domain to their account while you deleted the domain but didn’t update the configuration of the domain to point to somewhere else, so still pointed to our serviced. which could let them create branded links without your permission.

If you need help with a deleted domain, please contact support for guidance.

My domain is active, and I created the short link, but it's still not working for users. Why?

Even though your domain is active, it can take some time for the changes to update across all systems that manage the domain. Wait a little while and try again later. Once the updates are complete, your link will work as expected.
