WiseStamp Desktop App for Teams Accounts

The WiseStamp Desktop app, which can operate on Windows and Mac devices, can be installed on a computer to automatically deploy the WiseStamp signature to Outlook or Mac Mail. Once the app is installed, every change made to the WiseStamp signature is immediately reflected in Outlook or Mac Mail,. 

!important!This article describes how to deploy WiseStamp for Teams accounts users. If you are using WiseStamp for Pro account, follow the deployment instructions described in WiseStamp Outlook Desktop App for Pro Accounts. !/important!

You can send instructions to your employees about how to install the WiseStamp app on their computers. Alternatively, you can have your IT department install the app on every employee's computer through Group Policy Object (GPO) or Mobile Device Management (MDM) deployment.

Centralized installation using GPO

Follow the procedure below to install the WiseStamp Desktop app for your organization. After the installation, you need to activate the app on each computer either manually (by sending invitation emails) or automatically (by running the Auto Login script).

To perform GPO installation of the WiseStamp Desktop app:

1. Download the installation file.
2. Create a new folder and transfer the installation file to that folder. 
3. Right-click the new folder and select Properties. In the dialog, select the Sharing tab and copy the full network path.
4. In the Server Manager app, navigate to Tools > Group Policy Management and select your domain. Right-click your domain and select Create a GPO in this domain.
5. In the popup, enter a name for your domain and click OK.
6. Right-click the new Group Policy Object you just created and select Edit.
7. In the Group Policy Management Editor, right-click in the empty area and select New > Package.
8. Paste the network path (Step 3) into the address bar and then open the installer.
9. Select the assigned deployment method, and click OK.
10. In the Group Policy Management Editor, right-click the WiseStamp installer and select Properties.
11. In the dialog, open the Deployment tab and select Uninstall this application when it falls out of the scope of management.
12. Click Apply.

After installing the app, continue by providing activation codes to your employees in one of the following ways: 

• Send employees their activation codes by manually inviting them (from the Employees page).
  Important: As the add-on will be installed on your employee computers only after their next restart, we recommend sending the invites 24-48 hours after completing the GPO installation.
  The invite email sign-in link and sign-in code are valid for 24 hours only.
• Automatically add the activation codes to employee computers by running the Auto Login script.

Run the Auto Login script (GPO installation)

After deploying the Outlook Desktop app via GPO distribution, the app needs to be activated on your employee computers by providing the activation code (also known as the login code). The Auto Login script automatically activates the app for your employees, enabling them to use the app. The script is recommended when quick onboarding is essential or when you prefer not to involve your employees' in-app activation. 

Before you begin, verify that the WiseStamp app was successfully installed on your employee computers. In addition, you need the following components:

• Script file: Download the PowerShell script and save it in the shared folder you created for the GPO deployment.
• WiseStamp token: This token is needed to add the script to your Group Policy. You can obtain the required token from WiseStamp support team.

Run the script

Follow these steps to add and run the Auto Login script: 

1. From the Server Manager app, go to Tools > Group Policy Management.
2. Right-click the group policy you created and select Edit.
3.  In the Group Policy Management Editor, go to  User Configuration > Policies > Windows Settings. Then, select Scripts (Logon/Logoff) and click Logon.
4. In the Logon Properties dialog, click the PowerShell Scripts tab, and click Add.
5. In the popup, configure the following settings:
   • Script Name: Path to the script file.
   • Script Parameters: This is the WiseStamp token that you obtained from the WiseStamp support team. Enter the token using the following syntax:
     token <token>
     Ensure there is a space between the token parameter and the token string.
6. In the Group Policy Management Editor, go to User Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows PowerShell and select Turn on Script Execution.
7. In the dialog, select Enabled and Allow all scripts. Then, click Apply and OK.
8. In the Group Policy Management Editor, go to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Group Policy and select Configure Logon Script Delay. 
9. In the dialog, select Disabled. Then, click Apply and OK.
10. To push your group policy changes, open the command line and run the following command:
    gpupdate /force

Desktop App

Once the WiseStamp app is activated on your employee computers, the Teams Signature is added to all new, reply, and forward emails.

To successfully use the app, employees should make sure Use in Outlook is selected. They should then verify that Teams Signature is the selected signature.

Centralized installation using MDM

The procedure below describes how to centrally install the WiseStamp app for everyone in your organization using MDM. In this procedure, we use JumpCloud as an example for the MDM service provider, but you can use any other provider (e.g., Ninja One).

To install the WiseStamp Desktop app using MDM:

1. Sign in to Apple Business Manager (https://business.apple.com).
2. Generate a new server token by following these instructions.
   (The token generated is valid for one year. You need to update it periodically.)
3. Go to Apps and search for WiseStamp. Then, set the quantity to 100,000 and click Get.
4. Open your MDM service provider account (in this case we use JumpCloud).
5. Go to MDM and click the VPP tab. Click Add token and follow the instructions to upload your server token from the business manager.
6. In your MDM service provider (in this case Jumpcloud), go to Device Management > Software Management and select the devices/groups on which you want to install the app. 

After completing these steps, the WiseStamp app is installed on your employee computers. Now you need to provide your employees with their activation codes by sending them invitation emails (from the Employees page).

Installing the Outlook Desktop app on Mac

Users of the Outlook mail program for Mac can add their WiseStamp signature by downloading the WiseStamp app and logging in with the login code. The workflow is presented in the procedure below. 

You can send employees these instructions and the installation file for the WiseStamp app by sending them an invite email (from the Employees page). 

To install the Outlook Desktop app:

1. Download and open the WiseStamp app from the Mac App Store.
2. When the app launches, paste the login code from your invite email and click Login.
   If you cannot find the email, check your Spam folder.
   The sender of the email is WiseStamp for Teams <notifications@wisestamp.com>.
   !note! Although the invite mentions Windows users, the login code works for Mac users as well.!/note!
3. Once you log In with your code, click OK to allow access for WiseStamp. Your signature is displayed in the WiseStamp App
4. Select the checkbox to enable the app to automatically launch at login. Then, click Done to close the app.
5. Open Outlook and compose an email. Your new signature appears in your signature settings as Teams Signature. Click it to add it to your new email.
6. If you want the signature to be automatically added to new emails, click Signatures and assign the new signature to the proper email address in the Settings pop-up.
7. Click OK to save your new settings.

Installing the Outlook Desktop app on Windows

Users of the Outlook mail program application for Windows can add their WiseStamp signature by downloading the WiseStamp app and logging in with the login code. The workflow is presented in the procedure below.

You can send employees these instructions and the installation file for the WiseStamp app by sending them an invite email (from the Employees page). 

To install the Outlook Desktop app:

1. Download the WiseStamp App.
2. Double-click the downloaded file (WiseStampInstaller) to open the installation wizard.
   !note! If a Microsoft Defender window pops up, click More info and then click Run anyway.!/note! 
3. Install the app using the installation wizard. On the last screen,  verify that Launch WiseStamp is selected. Then click Close to quit the wizard. 
4. When the WiseStamp app launches, paste the login code from your invite email and click Login.
   If you cannot find the email, check your Spam folder.
   The sender of the email is WiseStamp for Teams <notifications@wisestamp.com>.
5. Review the preview of your signature in the WiseStamp app. Then click Done to close the app.
6. Open Outlook and compose an email. Your new signature appears in your signature settings as Teams_Signature. Click on it to add it to your new email.
7. If you want the signature to be automatically added to new emails, click Signatures and assign the new signature to the proper email address in the Settings pop-up. 
8. Click OK to save your new settings.

Uninstall the WiseStamp Desktop app

If you no longer need the WiseStamp Desktop app, you can remove it quickly and easily.  

Uninstall on Mac

Follow these steps to remove the app:

1. Go to Applications and locate the icon for the WiseStamp app.
2. Right-click the icon, and select Move to Trash.

Uninstall on Windows

Follow these steps to remove the app:

1. Right-click on the Windows Start icon, and select Apps and Features.
2. From the Apps & features list, select the WiseStamp app. Then, click Uninstall.

Troubleshooting

The following are some of the issues that may occur:
